The National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) has been granted a three-year academic license for tNavigator, a cutting-edge software developed by Rock Flow Dynamics. Widely used in the industry, tNavigator supports seismic interpretation, reservoir modeling, geosteering, and 3D geologic modeling, making it a valuable addition to the Institute’s teaching and research resources. The total value of the license donation is estimated at US$40 million.
To mark this milestone, Director Noelynna T. Ramos hosted a gathering at the Institute on 18 September 2025, welcoming representatives from RFD and Michael Barcelon and Aldous Sapin of Welkin Oilfield & Industrial Supplies Corp., the official local distributor of tNavigator.
Dany Auliansyah, Geoscientist at RFD, also led a half-day training session at the NIGS Computer Laboratory introducing faculty, researchers, and students to tNavigator’s key features in geological analysis and modeling.
Through this collaboration, NIGS continues to strengthen its capacity in geoscientific education and research, helping equip the Philippine geoscience community with advanced tools to meet both academic and industry standards.
