The National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) welcomed faculty members from Partido State University (PSU) on June 24, 2026, for a benchmarking visit aimed at strengthening PSU’s Bachelor of Science in Geology program.
The PSU delegation, led by Dr. Leah Erica Ignao, Dean of the College of Science, met with NIGS Director Dr. Noelynna T. Ramos, together with other NIGS officials and staff, to discuss academic, research initiatives and best practices in geology education.

During the meeting, representatives from both institutions exchanged insights on their respective curricula, research programs, and other initiatives, with discussions focusing on strategies for enhancing undergraduate geology education.
Following the discussions, the PSU faculty and staff toured key NIGS facilities, including the NIGS Museum, Audio Visual Room, lecture rooms, and teaching and research laboratories, providing them with firsthand exposure to the Institute’s teaching and research infrastructure.

The visit offered valuable insights that may contribute to the continued enhancement of PSU’s BS Geology program while further strengthening academic linkages between the two institutions.
