To investigate the seismic structure of the central Philippine Fault System and its geohazards implications. Specifically, obtain seismic images of the Verde Passage Fault, Sibuyan Sea Fault, and unmapped faults and structures within the Batangas-Mindoro-Marinduque onshore and offshore areas; produce a database of 2D and 3D fault models using seismic data; and utilize the new datasets to assess the region's coastal, marine, and submarine geohazards.

The research aligns with the following UN SDGs:

  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 14: Life Below Water
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
