This proposed research will investigate the geophysical signatures associated with potential natural hydrogen gas generated through the serpentinization of ultramafic rocks of the Zambales Ophiolite Complex. Existing gravity and magnetic datasets will be reprocessed and used to image the subsurface, exploring potential gas sources, fluid/gas pathways and conduits, and potential reservoirs or storage.

This research aligns with the following UN SDGs:

  • SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
