As an academic organization, UP Geological Society remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering academic excellence and imparting knowledge to fellow students. In line with this, the Academics Committee spearheaded a review session in preparation for the Geol 11 examination. This initiative marks the second session—the first of which was conducted online last September and open to non-geology majors. This time, however, the session was held exclusively for geology majors to provide a more focused and in-depth review.

After four long years, UP GeoSoc proudly marked the return of its Alumni Dinner and Exhibit to a face-to-face setup. With the theme “Syzygy: Alignment of the Past, Present, and Future,” the event served as a symbolic gathering of alumni, resident members, and aspiring applicants celebrating the organization’s 67 years of honor and excellence in the field of geology. Like a syzygy, where celestial bodies align, this event symbolizes the harmony of shared history, present achievements, and future aspirations. It will be a time to reflect on the rich legacy that has shaped the organization, celebrate the progress they are making, and embrace the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
GeoSoc alumni members, and applicants, gathered for a dinner to celebrate the organization’s 67th anniversary.
The dinner was held on December 01, 2024, at the College of Science Administration Building. It was a night filled with a variety of activities, including speeches from the esteemed alumni, an exhibit that traverses through memories, exciting games, raffle draws, and an achievement report that highlighted the progress and accomplishments of the organization over the past year. The event served as a testament to the enduring unity and shared commitment of the UP GeoSoc family.
