The Rushurgent Working Group (RWG) actively participated in the 8th Philippines–Taiwan Earth Sciences International Conference (PTESIC), held on June 2- 3, 2025, at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel in Quezon City. Dr. Carla B. Dimalanta, who played a key role in initiating the early geoscientific dialogues between the Philippines and Taiwan, opened the conference with a presentation highlighting the nearly two decades of collaboration between the two countries. RWG members also contributed through oral presentations, with Dr. Graciano P. Yumul Jr. discussing his research on alkaline rocks and gold mineralization in North Luzon, and Dr. Leo T. Armada presenting his work on applying new geophysical techniques to better understand the tectonic framework of Northern Central Philippines.
Additional contributions were made during the poster session by other RWG researchers and graduate students, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas with earth scientists from both countries. Photo courtesy of PHIVOLCS.
