As part of the 60th Anniversary celebration of the University of the Philippines Press (UP Press), the Atlas of Coccolithophores in Philippine Marginal Seas was officially launched on March 20, 2025, alongside 59 other newly released titles. The launch was attended by two of the authors, Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando and Ms. Dorothy Joyce D. Marquez. Although lead author Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay was unable to attend the ceremony, she visited the UP Press Office earlier on February 20, 2025.

The Atlas
showcases and describes various species of coccolithophores found in the
marginal seas of the Philippines. This comprehensive work is the result of
years of dedicated research by the faculty and graduate students of the
Nannoworks Laboratory, driven by the aim of understanding how these microscopic
organisms can serve as indicators of both past and present oceanographic and
climate conditions.
