As part of the application cycle and year-end traditions, the last few months of 2024 were filled with meaningful activities that brought applicants, resident members, and alumnae together. Here’s a recap of what took place from October to December:
October
● Informal Interview
As part of the application process, each
applicant is interviewed informally by an assigned resident member about their
background and personal experiences to get to know them better as an
individual. This is conducted in-person in the Cwm tambayan space during the
first week of October.
● Buddy Dibbing & Get-To-Know Dinner
After the applicant’s orientation and
informal interview, a buddy dibbing program was conducted on 4th of October
2024, followed by a dinner to get acquainted with each other. The program aims
to assign a resident member as a buddy to the applicant to help and guide them
as much as possible in the application process. Afterward, the dinner was an
avenue for the applicants to get to know the resident members and co-apps.
November
● App’s Night
The event titled “Ghourl’s night out” was
held on November 4, 2024, spearheaded by the applicants to showcase their
skills and talent to the members. The
applicant’s night aims to simulate other organizational events in order to
immerse the apps in the processes of planning an event.
December
● Christmas Party
With a theme of “Holly Jolly Harmony: A Sisterhood
Christmas 2024”, a Christmas party was
conducted on December 17, 2024 at the Student Union Building to
celebrate the holiday, together with the resident members, applicants, and
alumnae.
● Outreach
As part of the 45th UP Cwm Zenana
Anniversary Initiatives, an outreach program titled “Powerpuff Sparks: Super Sweet,
Super Strong, Super You” was conducted on December 18, 2024 at Brgy.
128, Tondo, Manila. The program includes a geohazard awareness discussion,
various games, and food lunches to 22 children. In partnership with A
Bookworm’s Closet, UP Geology Majors’ Society, Iuvenis Orbis Geological
Fraternity, UP Geological Society, and all sisses and alumnae who donated, we
were able to provide school supplies to 22 children and 20 Paskuhan bags of
food supplies to victims of recent fire.
