Education
- High School Graduate (prior to 2016), or
- Completion of Grade 10/Junior High School (starting 2016), or
- Completion pf relevant vocational/trade course.
Training
- Eight (8) hours of relevant training or relevant trade certification (such as from TESDA)
Relevant Experience
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts regular inspection, preventive maintenance, performance checks, troubleshooting, and documentation of laboratory and scientific equipment and instruments, including but not limited to microscopes, XRD, XRE, AAS, wet geochemistry equipment, and other research and analytical instruments; coordinates equipment-related concerns, maintenance requirements, repair requests, equipment calibration and service schedules with faculty members, University Researcher, service providers, and other concerned offices; promptly reports any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Maintains and updates inventory records of laboratory equipment, accessories, spare parts, consumables, and supplies; monitors stock levels and equipment status; and coordinates procurement, replenishment of laboratory supply and equipment requirements with faculty members and University Researcher.
- Provides technical assistance and operational support during laboratory classes, research activities, analytical work, training programs, workshops, meetings, seminars, conferences, and other Institute activities requiring the use of scientific instruments and laboratory facilities.
- Prepares, maintains and updates records related to equipment monitoring, maintenance, calibration, utilization, inventories, and other laboratory and administrative documents; performs document encoding, scanning, filing, tracking and other administrative tasks necessary for effective laboratory management.
- Assists in the transport, installation, setup, and organization of laboratory equipment, instruments, samples, materials, and related resources during laboratory operations and Institute events and activities.
Eligibility
- Mechanical/Electrical Equipment Operator (MC 11 s. 1996, as amended, Category II).
