The Earth Resources Laboratory (ERL) conducts research on earth resources ranging from metalliferous and non-metalliferous deposits and energy resources. It envisions quality research and training of graduate and undergraduate students on the various aspects of resources.

Current Projects:

Mineral Resources

-characterization of alteration rocks in Didipio and Runruno ore deposits
-geochemistry of Didipio porphyry deposit (DOST-PCIERD Project in collaboration with ADMU)
-petrography of aggregates in Bulacan, Pampanga, and Rizal area
-petrography of crushed and natural aggregates
-morphology and mineral chemistry of pyrites in Runruno, Nueva Vizcaya

Energy Resources

-water-rock interaction of Bacon-Manito Geothermal Field
-water-rock interaction of Biliran Geothermal Field

Water-Food Energy Nexus

-hotspring water quality
-mineral equilibria of hot spring water
-thermal survey of hot spring waters in Calamba and Los Banos

Other training on transmitted and reflected light microscopy, hydrothermal alteration and geochemical modelling.
